We met an absolute legend, Primi, a Slovenian local who guided us through the Postojna Caves. He recommended visiting the natural bridges of Rakov Škocjan Valley, and was even kind enough to take us!

How to get to the Big Natural Bridge
The easiest way would be to click the red marker below and then directions. If you are driving to the big natural bridge at Rakov Škocjan park at the 2nd bend in the road where there is a path down to the bottom of the natural bridge. Make your descent downwards along the path. You will then come to the big bridge which in summer you can walk through. If you keep walking past it will reach a cave. At the back of this cave is the exit (slightly challenging) which if you follow will lead you to the road and then you can walk back to the car from there. Make sure you were decent shoes as the hike up requires stable shoes.
Note: If visiting during winter, do not be surprised if the path is not accessible as it turns into a lake during these months! Opt instead for a kayak which from photos looks just as beautiful!

How to get to the Small Natural Bridge
Again for the small natural bridge of Rakov Škocjan we have embedded a map for your convenience. Simply click the red marker and then directions, you will see a small area for cars nearby. After that there is a small dirt trail leading to top of the cave above the bridge. Here you can walk out onto an arch which is incredibly high for some nice photos and an epic view!
After that you can head down into a mouth of the cave (where the temperature drops dramatically) and then out to the small natural bridge. We spent 30 minutes down here as there was a lot too see, with all sorts of dramatic openings. We even got a shot looking back up at the arch that we were standing on before (see image below).

There are also lots of other amazing sites nearby such as the Predjama Castle which we recommend visiting if you are in the area!
