Are you looking at visiting Morocco this year? Having visited for the first time in 2018, we cannot recommend this country enough. Full of history, culture, unique experiences and friendly locals Morocco is a country that needs to be experienced first hand. We would recommend taking a guided tour even if it is only for part of the trip. Our suggestion would be one of the Morocco Desert Tours!
Some of the reasons for this are:
- The Country is much larger than we expected (446,550 square kilometres). This does not include the Sahara Desert.
- The distances between some of the primary locations can be 8 – 9 hours. For example, Fes to Marrakech.
- Finding amenities such as bathrooms and gas stations can be difficult. This is due to insufficient infrastructure between cities.
- Outside of the main cities, it may be difficult to communicate with locals.
We are not saying a guided tour is necessary, but for some locations such as the Sahara Desert, a tour is an easy way to ensure a safe and enjoyable time. Besides, learning about the culture and history of the country is best experienced through the local experts!
Morocco Desert Tours
There are many companies to choose from. Each offer a variety of itineraries. One company is Morocco Top Trips and Tours. As a company, they can organize excursions and tours to bring you the most memorable travel experience.
Founded by two locals, their knowledge of the country is outstanding. Having spent their childhoods in the Desert, they will be able to fill you with the history of the area throughout your journey.
What Type of Tour Should You Look For in Morocco?
If you are looking for one of the Morocco Desert Tours then you should ideally find one in the Sahara Desert. It is possible to find a tour in locations such as Skoura however, the terrain is quite different. Covering 9.4 million square kilometres, the Sahara Desert was one of the most unique and rewarding experiences during our time in Morocco.
Companies such as Morocco Top Trips and Tours organise your transportation from anywhere in Morocco, accommodation, Camel rides and daily meals. Personally, one night in the Desert is sufficient seeing it can be very hot (particularly from June – September). They also allow guests to customise trips based on their interests.

Back at the campsite, we enjoyed a traditional Moroccan dinner which consisted of Tagine, Cous Cous and Salads. The food was some of the yummiest we had during our time in Morocco! The evening finished with the staff participating in a traditional Moroccan dance.
As we knew the sunrise would be just as spectacular as the sunset, we chose to wake up early! We walked
