If you are planning a visit to Lake Bled, there is one thing that you MUST do. That is, hire a boat for a few hours and enjoy the serenity of the Lake. Lake Bled boat hire is an easy activity that all ages can participate in.
Lake Bled Boat Hire
The Details
Below we have documented everything that you need to know about planning an enjoyable day out on Lake Bled!
The details below are for a private, self-operated rowing boat. Alternatively, if you do not feel confident there are options to join a group boat ride which will take you into the island located at the centre of the Lake.
Where to hire a Boat
There are many places around Lake Bled which offer Boat Hire. If you are staying in Lake Bled the easiest place to hire a boat is from Grand Hotel Toplice (see map below).
Alternatively, you can hire a boat from outside Carmen Guest House or at a location close to the camping site on the other side of the Lake.
Cost of hiring a Boat
The cost of hiring a boat for an hour from Grand Hotel Toplice is 20€ per hour. We would highly recommend hiring the boat for two hours as the rowing is fairly tiring and you don’t want to be rushed. Alternatively, for 60€ you can hire a boat for two hours and enjoy a picnic. The picnic basket consists of cheeses, sashimi, roast beef, chocolate cake and most importantly champagne!
The prices of the other companies situated around the Lake vary slightly. Outside Carmen Guest House they charge €15 per hour for boat hire.
We noticed that all companies were very fussy about the time out on the water. If guests went slightly over an hour they were actually charging them for two!
What you need
We visited Lake Bled during the summer months. Depending on the time of the year, we would recommend the following:
- Sunscreen
- Jumper (as it can get quite chilly!)
- Water Bottle
- Appropriate Shoes
